From his place of exile, he wrote to his loved ones who had remained in Rome: it is these letters, *The Tristia*, that Yann Rivoal brings to the stage in a production directed by Thierry Glon.

The text blends everyday life in Rome (monuments, the theater, a birthday party, and the cake that’s already being shared) with the melancholy of a man far from his loved ones, all while maintaining a sense of humor about his misadventures as a Roman in a foreign land.
