Observing the Sun and the Stars: An Evening Under the Skies of Pornic

On Friday, July 24, the gardens of Éco-Domaine la Fontaine will be transformed into an open-air observatory. Binoculars, telescopes, and models will be set up for an evening event organized in collaboration with the Orion ADACV association—open to everyone and free of charge.

An Evening in Three Parts

5:00 p.m.: Sun observation
With the right solar filters, sunspots and prominences are safely revealed under the watchful eyes of the amateur astronomers of Orion ADACV.

6:30 p.m.: Model Exhibition and Talk
During this interactive session, volunteers from the association will present their models and explain the solar system in a way that’s accessible to curious visitors, without unnecessary jargon.

11:00 p.m.: Stargazing
Once night falls, the telescopes shift their focus. Planets, stars, and sometimes a nebula: the sky over Pornic, far from the big cities, is perfect for this.

In case of unpredictable weather, the 11:00 p.m. stargazing event will be canceled.

Why here, why now?

The Éco-Domaine’s 12-hectare park offers a rare sense of open space just a few minutes from the town of Pornic, free from light pollution. That’s what motivated the partnership with Orion ADACV: a site that’s truly ideal for stargazing, not just a venue for events.
