What is your Ayurvedic dosha type?
Discover Ayurveda at our seaside spa
You may have already heard of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine based on the balance between three vital energies: the doshas. But do you know which dosha is dominant in you? Understanding your Ayurvedic profile can transform your daily well-being.
Ayurveda, a science of balance
AtÉco-Domaine La Fontaine, we now offer personalized Ayurvedic treatments in partnership with Spa des Indes. This strong connection to Ayurveda is a natural extension of our regenerative approach: caring for people in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Ayurveda considers each person to be a unique combination of three doshas:
Vata (air + ether), associated with movement and the nervous system;
Pitta (fire + water), which governs digestion and the intellect;
Kapha (earth + water), the source of stability, strength, and immunity.
When these doshas are in balance, the body and mind function in harmony. However, an imbalance can lead to fatigue, stress, digestive problems, inflammation, or nervousness.
How can you identify and balance your dosha?
1. Identify your profile
Every individual has a natural constitution (prakriti), which remains stable throughout life, and a state of imbalance (vikriti), which can change. Our practitioners will work with you to determine your profile through questionnaires, physical observations, and a personalized consultation.
2. Experience an Ayurvedic treatment at the
spa Our Ayurvedic center in Pornic offers targeted treatments to balance excess doshas:
Abhyanga, a warm-oil massage that calms Vata and promotes grounding;
Udvartana, a powder-based drainage treatment to reduce Kapha and stimulate metabolism;
Pinda Sweda, heated herbal pouches tailored to Pitta or Kapha, to relieve tension and eliminate toxins.
These therapeutic massages, combined with a soothing environment nestled between the ocean, vegetable gardens, and forests, naturally support the body's regeneration.
3. Eat according to your dosha
The Ayurvedic diet is personalized:
-
Vata types will enjoy warm, mild, and nourishing dishes;
-
Pitta will benefit from refreshing, mildly spiced foods;
-
Kapha will regain its vitality with light, dry, and spicy foods.
Our menus and recommendations are tailored to your profile to help you maintain the benefits of the treatment.
4. Adopt calming daily routines
Ayurveda places great importance on rituals: waking up early, meditating, self-massage, practicing yoga, or mindful walking. These simple practices, in harmony with the seasons and your inner nature, gently rebalance the doshas.
