Out and about

All the team at La Fontaine are keen to share their favourite destinations and things to do with all our guests.

We’ve put together a programme of activities and workshops to help you discover the site in good company!

Feeding and grooming our animals, pumpkin painting, crafts – find out all about this season’s activities for children.

For adults, our team of permaculture farmers offer a range of workshops to introduce you to permaculture, singing, winemaking, even yoga.

And if you’d like to push open the doors of the Eco-Estate to let your eyes feast on the surrounding countryside, there’s plenty to choose from.

At the far end of the estate, La Fontaine aux Bretons beach is within walking distance.

Ideal for swimming in a wild setting, or just relaxing on the golden sands. NB: it is one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the Loire Atlantique region. If you’d like to take to the waves, you can hire a paddle board from our Reception desk.

If you want to take your adventure a step further, you can hire kayaks from our partner: Kayak Nomade.

If you’d rather be on land than at sea, you can also hire a bike from the Reception desk.

If you wish to combine the joys of the sea and those of the palate, check out the Echos Nature programme, which includes walking fishing trips, prawn fishing and seaweed collecting workshops.

Looking for speed on the beach? Discover sand yachting. A great activity to enjoy with family and friends at the sailing schools in La Bernerie en Retz and Saint-Brévin.

If you prefer to ride the waves, come and take surfing lessons on the Atlantic Ocean. Easy-to-tame waves, ideal for beginners in summer, but also bigger, more sensational waves when the weather permits…

The advantage of our location is that you have the sea and the countryside at your fingertips. If you’d rather be in the countryside, discover Mylène Beillevert’s enchanting walks.
