La Fontaine Dinner – Tuesday, November 18, 2025 – Jacques Vassal
Guest: Jacques Vassal, writer and journalist – Music as a Way of Life
AtÉco-Domaine La Fontaine Pornic, the Dîners de la Fontaine invite an inspiring guest each month to share their story over a convivial dinner. Combining culture, fine dining, and conversation, these evenings celebrate curiosity, humanity, and the joy of learning together.
For this new edition, we welcome Jacques Vassal, a writer, translator, and journalist with a passion for music and words. He will share anecdotes from his seminal work *Folksong* and his brand-new book *Avoir vingt ans dans les oreilles*, both published by Les Fondeurs De Briques.
A longtime contributor to Rock & Folk magazine, he has dedicated his life to exploring the great voices of French chanson and Anglo-American folk music: Brel, Brassens, Ferré, Dylan, and Cohen.
Jacques Vassal, author of several reference works, will share his perspective on song as a mirror of the world, discuss his encounters with the artists who have shaped his career, and explain how music connects cultures and generations.
An evening filled with stories, emotions, and new discoveries.
