Les Dîners de la Fontaine are back for a new edition dedicated to culture and camaraderie.
This time,Éco-Domaine La Fontaine pleased to welcome Frederik Mispelblom, painter, author, and co-founder of the Les Arts en Retz collective.
You may have already heard him on Radio Jade FM, where he hosts the segment “Painting and Depicting the Pays de Retz.”
Where Art, Heritage, and Identity Meet
Why would a Dutch artist choose to settle in France and become a French citizen?
Frederik Mispelblom arrived more than 50 years ago and initially pursued an academic career before opening his studio in La Plaine-sur-Mer.
Fascinated by the Pays de Retz, he explores the region through painting, writing, and radio.
In collaboration with Jo Maillard, founder of La Fraiseraie, he even co-authored a book on the values that have shaped this iconic institution in Pornic.
During this event, he will share his perspective on our region with humor and insight, and will explore the question: What are the connections between the Pays de Retz and the Netherlands?
The interview will be conducted by Sophie Kuhn and promises to be a fascinating conversation.
